This is a poem. It has words. Some of them rhyme.
In a race for our race our minds expand, our weapons outpace
A battle not good or evil
Sad and broken upheaval
Human thought infinite in potential
Imprisoned by the inconsequential

Tick and tock our clocks do stalk
The present implodes and time corrodes
Memories of sympathy for images on TV
So far away from me but needing to simply let it be

Exponential acceleration towards temptation
Extinction
Survival
Infliction
Reprisal

Freedom of mind and body perceived but never before achieved
Obvious flaws our inner character gnaws
At Subconcious impotence and ineffective governance
Of self
Is that who we are?

Concious and connected, a goal unrealized
Too many despised, no longer do we seem surprised
Racing toward a time when all is well
Some see hell when peering through a hardened shell

Self preservation
Attempted eradicaiton
of pain
What is it that remains?

A mental disorder
The prescription
Know thyself said one wise man
Way back in some foreign land
Words so simple and sure to be true
Though their meaning obscured by overwhelming hues

Radiant and certain yet always disappointing
Reactions, distractions, internal interactions
Doubt, regret, perpetual discontent

May time wash over me
Hope
Hope for perseverance
Why are we still here?
Defying probability?
A gambler on a hot streak
What chance do we have?
