Decisions
By: Justin Highland

There are so many people that inhabit this ground.
We all lay claim to our own little sections.
Boundary lines drawn by thick rivers of blood, greed, and deceit.
We as neighbors, Plotting always to redefine our place and its importance in this small shell of existence.
What gives a man the right to rule another?
What does it take to make a man see his ruler?
The revelation is not always so clear.
In more ways than one,  judgements are clouded.
Clouded by the extravagant things and pure simplicity of existing that is our life, When things are good.
It is easy to forget that there are those who starve so their children can eat.
Children who learn to kill before they learn to read.
People mutilated in a places of peace.
People affected by the decisions of others.
It is hard to imagine these things and their ripple effect.
Most will live out life only knowing the joys of life.
Let us never forget, we all share this ground and all the life in it.
We must strive to make decisions together for the good of all.
We must overcome the importance of boundary lines, one day, they may not matter.
Life is a gift.
Let us make decisions based on its preservation.
This just a thought, in the scheme of many.
It might slip away and pass right through.
These are just words.
Decisions are made by you.
