A gun goes off and kills a man,
While a teenager is working on her tan,
A new child is born,
While a grieving family mourns,
A man beats his wife,
While someone is given a new lease on life,
It's someone's birthday,
While someone's house is being taken because they can't pay,
A man is convicted of a petty crime,
While a major drug-lord never pays a dime,
A man wins the cup,
While a kid shoots up,

Did you ever think,
While you sit there, making a stink,
Or when your in bed with your soul mate,
That someone could be meeting their fate,

It all comes down to,
What others do,
At the same time,
Like now, as you read this rhyme,

What's happening in everyone else's life?
