The magic of a child.
Such imagination,
Taking little preparation,
Honoring simpler things,
Pretending to have wings,
A smile that,
You can't pull out of a hat,
Blatant laughter and joy,
Over the silliest toy,
Loving, living, and learning,
Saying things that keep adults' heads churning,
Not after green,
Not mean,
Believing so much,
Playing pirates and mermaids and such,
Loving a good fairytale,
Knowing the prince will never fail,
Adults think they know better,
Just cause they've been through a few to many trend-setters,
They are ‘all grown up',
But I think they need a swig of the cup,
Of youth,
Maybe loose a tooth,
And find the quarter under their pillow,
Or maybe sit beneath a Weeping Willow,
And read a storybook,
Take a look,
At the magic of a child's mind,
Relax, unwind,
Remember how to laugh and love,
Only then will you rise above,
Stop and think, in a simple, blunt way,
Sit, look, learn, stay,
Like an infant learning to walk,
Crawl or talk,
Stumble a little bit,
Don't force a smart-wit,
Say what's on your mind,
Be generous and kind,
Try, every once and a while,
To recapture the magic within a child!
