I tried to paint a sunrise...
Sing Colors

An empty pallet -
I tried to paint a sunrise
but found I couldn't recall
sing to me the hues
of Cherub angel blues
and lose the darkened night
sing to me the light
fill the pallet pale
a baby's smile shine
then belt out notes of red
of passions blessed heat
and trill out trails of yellow
mesh and blend with orange
dance them altogether
to warm me with the thought
that to see the sun awaken
will remind me what was taken
and dust will fade away
where an immortal once mourned
a love so long forgotten
so sing to me the colors
of a face I can't remember
for I only see reflections
on the moon's trite imperfections.
