We all need a place to call home. This was written about a foster child.
A place to belong

I don't want to leave here,
why am I shifted around.
What did I do, is it my fault
please someone tell me now.

Another life, another house,
another place to call home.
This is your new family,
But I had a family back home.

Their memory I have,
but I blocked it away.
It is easier to forget,
then to deal with the pain.

What did I do,
Is it my fault?
Please will someone explain.

They said my mother is sick,
that's why I cant come home.
Doesn't she know where I am,
can't she even phone.

All she is, is a picture,
on my bedroom wall,
and a visit maybe once a year,
with a present of a new doll

She`ll say how much she misses me,
and then ask me the same.
A kiss goodbye and then she`s gone
until I don't know when.

What did I do,
Is it my fault.
Will she be back again?

Another life, another house,
another place to call home.
This is your new family,
but I had a family back home.
