the pleasure and pain of love
withered petals of once blooming flower,

tired of waiting for rain, the promised lover,

always under scrutiny by the sun and the moon

afraid of wind trying to make it swoon,

witnessing her sisters sway with joy

young they are and interest the bee boy

while she waits for the clouds to turn gray

time drags its feet and the night devours the day

and in the darkness of the night

she weeps thinking of her plight

the touch of the first drop of her lover rain

moistening her young cheeks now dry with pain

life was to end soon before it could give birth to one

but then something happened that was never done

a bumblebee came fluttering on the meadow

and all her sisters opened up in seduction under the shadow

as she stood alone with her head bent in his glaze

he came down to her and kissed the tears on her face

alarmed she moved trying to escape his care

what the rain might think and what she would say

the bee saw the love denied in her eyes

he would make her happy humming her name a thousand times

her weak heart was soon to give in

the bee loved her and told her that its not sin

the jealous wind offered his breeze

friend of rain he was and he didn't like this tease

flapping his wings harder than ever

the bee floated for just one kiss

to make this lone girl shiver

and feel young again feel like a miss

he knotted his lips with hers infuriating wind

lost in paradise they were before she fell

hovering over her he wept nothing to tell

yes she died and his vainful flight of a mile

her old cheeks were moist with his tears but this time she had a smile
