for a someone very dear and special to my heart.
Fate of an Angel's Song
This morning I heard an angel’s voice,
A voice not heard in half a decade.

Songs sung from distant pasts,
Across imaginary boundaries,
Put in place to keep each in check.

Lyrics of memories float through my head;
A serine melody.

The symphonic sounds of words unspoken,
The climatic crash from cymbals of life
And the roaring roll of the timpani
As boundaries crash through the floor.

In a time when the tempo feels as if
The director was intoxicated by irrational ideas
Was this angel’s song my rope to safety?

A fate that plays out,
Brought in to soothe the thoughts
And bring the orchestra unto order.

Perhaps it’s the tuning fork of sanity
Working out the sharps and flats.

I will not follow in this intoxicated manner
For I am no drunken fool.

Fate plays out in multiple layers
And in time I will know which verse to sing,
For the right one will come with ease.

To watch in place, the seat:
Front row, center.

The orchestra falls back to harmony;
Notes corrected and running in time.

I’ve been waiting for this;
To hear this song masterfully played
With breathtaking majesty
And to see an angel smile.

For this fate is ours,
This song is ours;
This angel’s song.
