Poetry written about how a woman might feel about terminating a pregnancy.
Vacancy

I regret
that my womb,
a prime piece
of real estate,
was not
occupied
more often.

Young,
and undone,
I evicted
a tenant
and I still
lament that loss.

There were
other tenants
but they chose
to leave
in the purple
stillness of
night
and I was left,
vacant
by morning.
