A poem on destroying the beast of envy within each of us.
Everything I am
or ever was,
simply mad. Simply mad.
She wants this life,
these smiles and hearts,
the venom, the darts.
All she ever wanted
dancing before her eyes,
embodied in me,
embracing my body-
my body-
it was never hers.

I never touched the sky.
I couldn't fathom why.
She always had to pry.
She pleaded for my lies.

Peel past those liar's eyes
and see the beast within.
Tear off all the masks,
comedy and tragedy
is all her bullshit.
Expose her truths and watch
as the beast
withers
beneath the weight.

You can't have my life, wretch.
You can't measure up- stretch!
You won't catch a glimpse, alone.
You'll never feel this joy, clone.

This is my final acknowledgement.
She's gone.
