A poem about living life
Life, a subject often talked "lite" of
but do these people see the same world
that surrounds you and me?
Some say live life to the fullest
Who really knows what that means?
I don't know about the "others"
As for me I choose to breath it in
and never let it go.
I want to experience all emotions
and feel them swirl around my soul.
I want to dance naked in the rain
skipping to its every beat.
I want to sit outside
and soak up a warm summer sun.
I want my lips to experience ecstasy
like the sensation from a first kiss.
I want my tongue to be quenched with exotic flavors
like the pleasure-burn of spicy pad-thai.
I want the doors of my heart to swing wide open
Releasing all my hopes and fears and
All other little secrets.
As for now they remained locked
Hiding a story untold, but as I learn
To live my life, eventually each door
Will break free from its entrapment.
Notable awards and academic achievement
Are great to be acknowledged,
But they can’t show you the real me.
When I go I want to be remembered for
Experiencing life and breathing it into my soul.
