This is my poem that was published in 1984 by the Fraser Valley Writer's Guild.
Change

when will I ever
maybe never
do I have a right?
rehearsing,
Dress conversing
melodrama
through the night
memorizing
Act I, scene before
so certain
won't fail
Curtain rises, sun rises.
"Where is my applause?"
wake up
stop dreaming
toast and promise
turning stale
It's a new leaf but the flower droops
get dressed
regressed
no time to wait
it's curtain tme.
