It is a fascinating beginning of the story. From the first word, the writer creates a tremendous amount of suspense and it maintains throughout the chapter.
The main character of this novel is none other than Ruri, an unfortunate girl who is used to smuggling things into other places. She did not like it but had to be with them, especially for the sake of her brother's security and his food. Anyhow she is now part of the underworld. This incident shows how evil people exploit the weak points of a person and force them to go on the wrong path. It is pathetic, there is no doubt about it but it is taught to stop them. This is a bitter reality.
The novelist introduces Ruri to us. We can get some ideas about Ruri's activities.
Ruri wants freedom. How can she get it? Through an exceptional Hero? Or death will give her liberty? These are the realistic ways to get freedom. There is another way, a supernatural power can fulfil her desire.
The author opens all possibilities. So we hope for a happy ending with a positive message. Otherwise, using the fantasy genre, not used in the first chapter, will be useless.
I hope for the best and am waiting anxiously for the next chapter.
