It is a beautiful writing effort, but it is not a short story. It can be considered as an ideal Monologue. There is no doubt about it.
In a Monologue, we see a speaker express his feelings or opinions without any obstruction in his or her speech. If you look carefully, you can see the narrator informs us about her love. How much she loves her is explained here superbly. She is very much obsessed with him, she is straight-indicated towards that point. That emotion is the subject of it which is written from her personal experiences.
But, it is not a short story at all. A short story begins with the main purpose straightaway. It is done. But, the writer opted for the descriptive method that hampers the pace in some pockets. But, in a short story pace break is the key factor that should not be slowed down. But, the subject is suitable for writing an interesting short story. Despite the opportunity, the writer can not capitalize on it.
Of course, there is no scope for frustration. You rectify yourself and become a great writer.
