Wow! it is another classic creation by the poet. It is symbolic poetry. That prodigious ship is nothing but our ongoing life. The flow of that ocean takes us into our eternal home, God's house. If we want his mercy, we should not take any steps that may hurt the Supreme Lord. The stream of our materialistic world will not be the same forever. We will find many ebbs on our way to achieving goals. Please, do not be frustrated. We should face those odd situations courageously after appointing God as captain of our ship. That dependency on God can make us successful in the end. Otherwise, we will be a failure person. If you never lose faith in Lord, he must show you the correct direction towards his home. So, the relationship between God and us is the most reliable.
