The narrator is telling a story of a man who has a god-gifted talent. Unfortunately, he does not take care of it. He prefers drug addiction rather than building himself as a genius. It is the most dangerous criminal activity.
He not only deprives himself but does not do justice to the society to which he belongs unduly. His talent may be helpful for us if it does with perfection. But, it remains unhappened due to his addiction.
The poet awakes us about that pathetic crime in time. Our task is to take the necessary action to protect our future talents.
