I don't know if this really happened to you or not, but I can't blame you for leaving after that phone call.
Sadly, in this age of new technology, things like this are happening much more often, and I feel they aren't going to get any better in the forseeable future.
I've never heard of Skynet, but if they actually did this to you then they should be ashamed. That is not the way tell a worker that they've been let go! Like you said, you sacrificed (and dedicated) 4 good, irreplaceable years of your life just so you could get that job, and after a week they get this 'new', 'amazing' computer?
*Angry* That really ruffles my feathers, whether this actually happened to you or not! Because even if it didn't, it's happening to somebody somewhere, every single day.
For such a short piece, you did a great job of telling this, Georgina.
