You wanted to know how well this fits the dark genre.
Wow!
It is pow!
There is imagery that glues the reader to the edge of his seat.
Form and structure are strong.
There is good, evil, and down right terror.
More imagery that comes to mind.
Flow is smooth and grammatically snafu free.
Pace is fast and the conclusion is worth the blast.
