The baby grand reproducing player that Linda loved listening to as much as dad and I.
         This is the best one in the collection my dad and I built up in our almost 20 years of rebuilding and collecting the original (roll driven, not electronic) player pianos.
         Just like the new CD- or tape-driven players, this one reproduces a live performance, working the foot pedals and handling, very accurately, all the dynamic levels at the keyboard. The performance is so accurate to the original that the artist playing the piece when the master copy of the roll is being cut had to approve the final result before it could be mass duplicated and sold on the market. And it did it all long before any sophisticated technology to do the same was developed; the mechanism in this Steinway, and in a line of pianos made by the Aeolian Company of New York, was first marketed in 1911.
         And, for you computer buffs, the expression system in this reproducing player design is based on the same hexidecimal numbering system as is used in modern computers.
         Now, with dad having sold his house well over a year ago, I have to sell this beautiful piano. Dad's house was about 3 times the size of mine. His living room was large enough to comfortably house it. Mine isn't. The piano is 6'2" long.
         In this shot, it's seen in its original location, in my dad's living room. The other pictures of it that will appear here shortly will show closeups of it from varioius angles so you can see it in detail.
