I think that, yes, I would probably be devastated, and, yes, I would probably adopt.

What about if your spouse were unable to have kids? Would you go to a sperm donor so you could at least have a child with your DNA? Would you support your boyfriend/husband/partner having a child -- by artificial insemination or whatever -- with another woman?

Would any of you have fertility treatments if you couldn't conceive? I don't think I'd ever go that route. It's unnatural and it seems like it's always resulting in multiples! Much as I think it would be fun to have twins or triplets or quadruplets (er, "fun" maybe being the operative word here), fertility treatments isn't my method of choice for getting multiples!
