Re: Magdalene Sisters
I checked the copyright on the Joni Mitchell song and it's like 1997 (I think?), so I'm betting the song isn't connected to the movie -- just about the same historical subject.

The movie sounds...depressing. The kind of thing I might watch if someone else in the house were watching it; but probably not. I'm so picky about what I read and watch, because it pushes me over emotionally into deep places that I can't always get out of easily. It's funny; I love the song, but I'm scared of how the movie would make me feel! To some degree, I just don't like the '60s (I think it said the movie is set in the '60s?). I've nothing against the decade, except that it was so wild and uncontrolled that it kind of boggles my mind and it's just not my "type" of time period. Also, to me, the song is ageless; the movie sounds, well, like the '00s talking about the '60s. Hmm. Not sure why that isn't appealing to me; whatever!

Your thoughts? Ellie, Fleur, Ilona, have any of you seen this movie or heard of these places in Ireland?
