It all depends on where the gift points came from:
"The Review Mixer" shares the gift points with the reviewer and the person being reviewed.
There is no set amount that is appropriate, obviously a short poem and a novel chapter require different amounts of time to review. As a newbie, members don't expect big paybacks from the individual, knowing you haven't accumulated many gift points. A thank you reply or return review to the reviewer is always nice. But no one should demand a set amount.
