SugarCube's Insomniac Asylum

It had been years since traveling to my favorite spot on this earth, a waterfall among the highest peaks in Utah. This year was the earliest time I had been there. It was so early that a snowplow had pushed a hole through for access to Mirror Lake in the High Uintah's.

Small riverlets escaped down rocky trails everywhere there was space uncovering winter. This is the origin of major rivers offering Utah's water supply. It is a land of a thousand lakes.

We stopped and felt the cool mist against our faces, watched the tableau of mother nature honing her craft, turning one season into another. It was twenty degrees cooler or more than the city we came from. There was so much water spilling over the waterfall that the rock steps carved out of the earth had disappeared in a roaring flood.

A most impressive day.
