October Novel Prep Challenge

I'm probably going to be doing more research about this for the day.

Somewhere I remember that most popular novels are written around an 8th grade reading level. I don't remember where I heard this, but I remember it. I think literary fiction is layered more, so it might be at high school or college reading levels, depending on the individual work and audience.

So what I want to find is some reference that explains which work is at which level. I found that link that I sent to Brandiwyn🎶 fascinating to learn that Twilight is on a 4th grade level, but it doesn't surprise me.

This page has an average grade level of about 5.

It should be easily understood by 10 to 11 year olds.
This is my blog. I write a lot like I would speak, and it's understandable by a wide audience.

But that's not enough data for me, so of course I'm going to be digging in. Thank you for piquing my curiosity!
