Debutante
Enured
Hammer
Toxic
Courtesan
Usance

Cop found a body in the park Tuesday morning.
Once she was a woman vibrantly alive.
Now she's just another half-clothed corpse
Covered in blood
And the people, so enured to the violence,
Say, "Too many whores in this neighborhood, anyway."
If she turned out to be a hammered debutante,
Slumming where the rest of us live,
Somebody would cry out the horror.
They always do.
Splash it across the country,
Across the world,
Like some kind of foreign currency.
Usance on a debt only half of us pay.
And behind their hands people would still say,
"Too many whores in this neighborhood, anyway."
Courtesans to a toxic court
All of us.
Courtesans all of us.
