Re: Submitting
*sighs* I face the submission demons. I've had things published in the past and I've had a few rejection slips too but I haven't submitted anything in a very, very long time and I constantly feel very let down by it. Mostly at the moment I feel like I've got nothing I want printed. I'm working on two novels, one is into second draft stages and I think it's shockingly horrid at this point. The base of good book is there but it needs some serious overhauling before I'll ever consider submitting it to my target publisher and if rejected by them elsewhere. The other is only into chapter three of the first draft and has a very long way before it'll be ready to be submitted.

Beyond that I have a few poems and even fewer articles I guess I could submit but I lose faith in the poetry markets since very few pay and the whole submission processess is time consuming and tedious. I don't have enough time in a day to do everything else I've already got weighing down my to-do lists let alone focus on researching and submitting to markets. Of course, if we don't do that side of things how can any of us expect to make a living in this career. I know it's definately something I need to lift my priorities on.

Submission is all part a writers job. I just wish it was a part I could delegate to someone else. *idea sparks* Ohhhhhh, perhaps we writers should hire staff to do our submissions for us? We prolificate a wealth of words, dump it on our secretaries desk and let them get it into the marketplace for us while we continue to write more? *is now hiring if you're interested* *Wink*

Have fun and keep writing,
Yours truly,
Rebecca Laffar-Smith
