Geesh, around here when is it ever not midterm time?

Actually, this wasn't sparked by one single midterm or essay, but rather by a massive buildup of all the literary theory ever fed to me. It's also not really that it seems like I"m not learning about writing; application was never something that I, as a student, worried about too much. If nothing else then I'll become a better writer just from the practice, anyhow.

My feelings are closer to those of the kid in the Emporer's New Clothes. It seems like everyone else is seeing something that isn't there. The reson for my post was more because I was wondering if anyone had a different perspective on it than to elect sympathy. Thanks anyways, though, I appreciate it.
