when a teenage girl realizes that growing up isnt all that great
[Introduction]
I lost her to the baby blue skies and the summers in the pool.
She wanted it all, she wanted to be everything.
In her mind she could touch the stars, in her heart she was a star.
Her mama told her she was number one, her daddy said she was his only one.
She was wild and crazy, she was brave and inquizitive...
Until the day she turned 15.
Her mind disired freedom, her heart demanded the world.
She pulled away from her mama and faught with her daddy, but all her big dreams remained.
The summer dresses turned into short little shorts and the baby girl was no more.
The day finally came where highschool packed a punch and she couldn't face the pain.
Her mama said she was always her number one, Her daddy said she was always his only one.
A tear fell down her face and the baby girl showed through her skin.
She longed for those blue skies and the summers in the pool, instead of drama and ridicule.
She just wanted to be the baby girl.
