That was a good survey - liked it better than the other ones I've gotten probably more than 10 times now...sometimes from the same people who apparently forgot about it at some point. This one had questions I'd really like to know the answers too. It was interesting...

Oh...I hated the wives-tales during pregnancy, everyone thinking they have an inside scoop from believing a myth. I heard the heartburn one too. I also hated people touching me. My mom rubbed my belly once in public and got an ear full for it. I think I was standoffish enough that strangers knew not to touch me. I was cranky as all get out as well.

BTW, the responsibility part happened when you guys decided to have kids. NOW you don't get to be irresponsible again for another 18 years. It's okay, though, sweetie - there really is still life after forty or fifty. Just keep yourself in good health - be sure to eat right and exercise and all that rot, so you have the energy to get into all the mischief you can spend the next 18 years dreaming up.

I turned 27 about 2 months ago, and I kind of felt the same way. I dreaded my birthday for most of last year. It's really not that bad, though.

Oh the toddler bed. My oldest wouldn't go to sleep in it unless we were right there on the floor next to her, and then when we finally put our foot down about that, she'd end up falling asleep on the floor in her doorway with her little head out in the hallway--she did that for months until one day she was done and ready to go to sleep on her own. I dont even remember the day that changed. Then, the youngest slept in the toddler bed for about 6 months before it broke and now shes in a twin that rests on the floor and she's always just gone right to sleep with no problems and no need for mommy or daddy to be right there. So, its definitely differnet for every kid and they go through stages. One thing that helped us is that we took down the crib completely and put it away before switching to the toddler bed so that they wouldn't have a choice in the matter, it was the toddler bed or nothing. That might help?

Whatever you do, hang in there, he'll be sleeping like a big boy in no time!

Well, my x-laws bought Zoe a toddler bed and she did fine, but when it came to me, she would not stay in one. We made the transition in a different way...we bought a cabin bed (half-height bunk bed thing) and set it up in her room. We did not let her sleep in it for quite awhile. I even slept in it a few times when we had guest or something. Finally, I set it up to where she could not use the ladder - put the ladder against the wall - because she hasn't mastered that yet. I prettied it up, put some of her stuffed animals in, and asked her if she wanted to sleep in it for a nap. She did. I was worried sick she'd tumble out, even with the rails surrounding, but after a few days I realized she understood falling out would hurt. She slept fine, although she does like to play around now before going to sleep, which I think is typical for her age. I don't care, as long as she's quite and eventually goes to sleep (of course, we aren't on a rigid schedule either, so we have flexibility that way). But, she cannot get out of bed without someone picking her up.
Anyway...Zoe has always had a bigger bed in the room with her, so maybe she was just used to the idea. I'm not really sure. My brother's kid is still doing the crib thang.
Hang in there...it will get easier, just give it time. Let him get used to looking at the bed perhaps?
