Unravelling My Thoughts

Are temperament and Mental Health at all related? A positive, spiritual view of self.

I get profound ideas, at least I see it that way, and I want to share some of the workings of my mind.

Some of the ideas I string together may not makes sense at first glance, but pray about it, and let me know if I may be onto something, or if I'm just babbling.

I feel inspired to write all of this. I've was studying Mental Illness and reading Tim LaHaye's Spirit-Controlled Temperament at the same time. It made for some very interesting connections. I am applying what Dr. LaHaye laid out in his book. He was not and will not be the first or last to lay out temperament in these specific behavioral characteristics.

Even Christ said not to judge others lets you be judged in the same light.
In the case of false apology, it would seem that somebody is doing the judging to determine that the apology is false.

The fact that the person apologized, even if the person didn't feel as if anything was done to make cause for it, then it is not a false apology.
Sometimes a person can misunderstand or even misconstrue what another person says. Why is a good question, since this does not promote good feelings in anyone involved.

I've been accused of such a thing and it was unwarranted. I got called all kinds of things that was not true. So then it was a contentious lie.

Wow. A person could take classes in this and still not fully understand it. Well maybe they would but it sure is interesting.

Thanks so much for the great comments about my BLOG. I see that you've started one as well. I bought the book you purchased by Tim LaHaye. I think that's the way you spell it. It was so interesting. I like books like that because they help you to grow spirtually!
Take care and keep writing! Another book that is great in helping your writing is "The Artist Way" by Julia Cameron. Be sure and check it out.

I actually found out from Florence Littuer's Personality Plus that I am a PhlegMel with a couple of Choleric traits. Instead of relating to Abraham from the Bible, I relate more to Barnabas, the one who gave people second chances.

I actually found out from Florence Littauer's book that I am about 80 percent Phlegmatic. Melancholy is my secondary temperament, but I do have two traits that are Choleric. I have no Sanguine traits.

I didn't feel that LaHaye said Melancholy men were necessarily evil. I do believe he said they were misunderstood. LaHaye says that he's a Melancholy man himself. I guess he can be critical of the Melancholy because that is the temperament he most identifies with. Melancholies seem to flock to other Melancholies for help.

Have you had a chance to read Florence Littauer's Personality Plus? It was inspired by Tim LaHaye's book, but Littauer writes it from her point of view, which is definitely SanChlor. She admits her faults quite readily. Her husband is a MelChlor. She gives insightful dealings with people of different temperaments. She tells all of it with a story-like quality, typical of the Sanguine. There aren't too many Sanguine writer's, but I can say that she is easy to read. She also wrote a book for parents.

Psyhologists often focus on the negative aspect of temperament and try to point out something physical that is wrong with their patients. Their mental illness is often viewed as permanent, but this temperament framework is neither fully negative or postive. There can be permanent changes and variances within temperaments, which are spiritual, not physical entities. With God all things are possible. I've seen God manifest in people of all of these different temperaments, using their life experiences to mold and shape them to do His will.

Praise be to YAHveh! His glorious Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) can overcome any weakness of temperament, and people will be able to see their true worth, no matter what their past, present, and future experiences may throw at them.

God be with your spirit.
