This will be a blog for my writing, maybe with (too much) personal thrown in. I am hoping it will be a little more interactive, with me answering questions, helping out and whatnot. If it falls this year (2024), then I may stop the whole blogging thing, but that's all a "wait and see" scenario.
Stuck in the middle has killed every attempt that I've made to write a novel. Only once with a shorter story, just over 10K words did I actually finish.
Thanks for all these articles, they are basically gold.
I had the same thing happen with a couple of my pieces. One person insisted I needed to add an epilogue to one story because I owed it to my readers to explain how everything turned out, when I felt I already had one that.
I was embarrassed when I did a review maybe last week when I told the author I was sorry he was bullied in high school and what he had to go through in the story about attending his high school reunion. I've gotten reviews of a few things I have on here that truly enlightened me. I didn't know I had written it that way, but it made more sense and sounded like I knew what I was doing. To me, it was just a story about people and things.

I wrote mine at Storyworth.com in 2023. They are patiently waiting for my final edit then it will be hard bound. It can then be purchased by family members.
I've quit projects and never gone back to them. But... I don't regret doing them. Other projects are on hold. Sometimes letting it rest helps seeing it through fresh eyes.
I just realized I'm echoing Max.
I'm editing old flash fictions write now. When I'm finished I need to check out old poems stashed in ancient blogs.
As for audience... the old folks at the Senior Center aren't a stellar audience for what I write. The Housewives of WDC is another difficult audience for me. But... I shouldn't complain. If I could get $1 from 0.3% of the US population I'd be a millionaire.
I do enough prompts that I'm not permanently stuck in one genre.
