Welcome to my little area of the world I like to refer to as "The Nook." This journal will be replacing a great deal of my on-line journals, with the exception of my devotional book- which I will be building on in an attempt to create my own sell-able version.

As a child, I dreamed of a perfect reading corner. The place in my mind was small but comfortable, with shelves of books on each wall.
In one of the places I lived in growing up I was, at first, disgusted with a room my mother gave me to dwell in. I joked constantly and mercilessly about its small, cramped living space. However, the room soon came to be known, affectionately, as The Nook.
Although I have not yet realized my small dream, I hope to see it come to fruition someday. In the mean time, this is where I will curl up in a good chair, all of my favorite books surrounding me, and write.
Welcome, friend, to The Nook!

You have some good goals listed. How old is your son, whom you're trying to potty train? I don't personally have experience training boys, but I've heard from several friends/family that boys have a harder time learning than girls do.
I read an article recently, or fairly recently about a mom who had several pregnancies where she kept gaining weight and then would get pregnant again before she had a chance to lose much. Then after several years, she finally made some decisions about exercising and watching what she ate. I think it was mostly the increased exercising that helped her lose. She began by walking and over time walked thirty minutes. Then after several months she thought she'd try jogging, and was extremely successful doing that. She said, she was so surprised, the weight just seemed to drop off.
If I can remember where I read the magazine, I can make a note of it for you. I too weigh more than I want to. I gained 46lbs when first pregnant, mostly because I worked in a Bill Knapp's (you being from Muskegon will know what that was). I nibbled on dessert crumbs more than I should have. Three years later, when pregnant for my second daughter, I only gained about 20 lbs. It was fun, I didn't broadcast that I was pregnant, and many people didn't know until I was six months along, then it seemed like my pregnancy was much shorter.
A few years later I was sick and the meds they gave me caused me to gain 50 pounds, so I'm still trying to lose.
Oops, I wonder if I've exceeded my character count, hum?
Ditto that, the Congratulations, I mean. I don't know how your will power is, but it is possible for you to only gain the recommended amount during your pregnancy. And by the way, during the latter part of your pregnancy you'll probably feel more comfortable in looser clothing, but if you decide to try to slim down some, then you'll want to lose.
Good luck with all your preparations. Are you hoping for a boy or girl? I wanted a boy first, but had two girls (at different times) instead.
EL -- Teffitor in the mist. Now, the society dame is an interesting spoof in fiction. MIL reminds me of a character like a vampire. Either you live with em or go without. hee, heee meant to cheer you, dear.
"Invalid Item" offers a winter story set in Maine. Ya know maybe time for the latest on Crazy Bobby from NY.
Hey EM, Teffitor ah-heyah. Something funny came up, Ms Logan. Cruising around in my Muercielago, notice your folders are so vast .. am a bit lost, hon.
Hey Beccy, sorry to hear about that, but glad that you were able to get together with family for the holidays. Will you email me your current email address. I remember you changing it, but I can't remember what it was. We are home from the hospital and our phone card ran out so I really don't have any other way to chat besides email and instant messenger. But was wanting to talk to you and see how it's going. Love ya, Liz and your new niece Kathleen.
