Faith and Certitude!

Has anyone ever hated you?

This sounds trite .. But, I've never hated anyone at first sight.
I had the misfortune of living near Peter Callahan ..He liked to fight.
Most of the other kids hated him too.

My mom told me to make friends with him. I walked up to Peter and he punched me
in the head.. I asked him why. He punched me again in the stomach and face.
I ran away.. My dad was old school.. He told me to find Peter and punch him back.

I did. Unfortunately, his friend Billy was nearby and they beat me up.
My dad said he was proud of me, while we waited for a doctor ..
My mom went to speak to Peter's mother.. Peter's mom apologized ..

She said Peter was upset about his parents divorce.
Mom asked me to go to see Peter's mom.. I did.
Peter said he was sorry in front of his mom and we shook hands.

Peter and Billy beat up again in the school yard.

Does any of this make sense?
