Today is National Leif Erikson Day   What was the best adventure you ever had?

Adventures in Poetry

The important events, both joyful and traumatic, have ended up in my poems. I write the lines and stanzas, sometimes I edit them and sometimes I leave the poem as is. Some of the poems came easily, while other poems were written in scarlet ink on the tablet of my spirit before I transcribed them in black letters on a white page.

         Life is an adventure,
a journey through mind and soul,
         looking for rhythm and rhyme,
as you write stanza and line,
         or compose metaphor and simile.

There is no editing or rewriting,
when you pen the final line,
         because what you've written
         on tables of chrysolite
         is engraved
         upon your soul.

So far (as far as I can remember), I have written two poems about my spiritual journey, which is an adventure in itself. The first one I placed in the introduction to "Devotional Poetry and the second--"Life's Journey-- is an entry in that that book. My spiritual journey began with two dreams, that I have mentioned in some of my entries in other blogs. I am attempting to write a poem about those dreams, all though I may have already written one. If I have, I will find it as I go through the poems I am transcribing to "Devotional Poetry and "Poem Experiments.

Now there are many wisdoms to ponder in the dream…

I found two article series on BahaiTeachings.org   about dreams. The first, which I started reading yesterday, is Turning to Your Dreams for Spiritual Guidance   by David Langness was written in 2015. The second, is Pondering the Deep Wisdom of Dreams   by Paul Mantel was written in 2017. I am hoping to get some inspiration from these articles to start and finish a poem or poems about the dreams that began my spiritual journey.
