Sunset

The reddish, yellow, orange hues
relax the day in peace.
A cup of chamomile renews
stretched heart to full release.

Today's far-spent. In gentle rest
Sun waves his fond farewells.
Awash in amber light I'm blessed.
Joy's tear on cheek, heart swells.

These musty pages of my book,
sunbaked to rose, transformed.
Entranced by warmth, full gaze to look
at flames of Comfort's storm.

"Wait, Closing Window! Bid my friend,
'Commune we by great hearth!'"
Alas, Blue Dusk in comes to send
the Blazing One to berth.

Fond Mem'ries, my companion long
shares sips of dainty tea.
Sweet thoughts of Sunset's parting song
dare tickle ears of me.
