Sunday Thoughts on Epigraphs
Sunday, June 25, 2017

"The tabernacle of unity hath been raised; regard ye not one another as strangers.
Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch."

Bahá’u’lláh1

The "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's Paradise prompt for DAY 1198
Have you ever had a book dedicated to you by the author, or been thanked by a musician in the liner notes of an album? If your blog could contain an epigraph, what might it read?

Have I ever had a book dedicated to me by an author, or been thanked by a musician in the liners notes of an album? No. I have to admit that both of those possibilities sound like something I would enjoy. It would be nice for it to happen now that I'm in my senior years because I don't think it would go to my head and make me overly proud. I suspect if something like that happened to me when I was younger I would have a different response then I would today.

Each word of an inscription
Proclaims the theme of an individual life.
I want the world to know the reason for my existence,
Give them something to think about or
Research in the mundane struggle of daily survival,
And answer any questions they may have about living.
Perhaps my epigraph will awaken
Hope in an individual who has no hope.

What Might My Epigraph Read?

Humanity is a single species,
God is one essence with many names,
And all religions are segments in the spectrum of faith
shining through the the prism of God's love.
