One Month Ago Today

One month ago today
You left and went away
New life for you to play
to suffer nevermore.

One month ago the loss
Started at such a cost
Burning away the dross
of love gone before.

One month ago my Mom
Left us to go beyond
Earth to her Home anon,
and no more her smile.

There in the ground a hole,
Laid in a box so cold,
No more to waxen old,
just gone for awhile.

Two-forty in the morn
Life of my Mom reborn
Mark through my heart was torn
in sadness so deep.

Hobbits may love the dirt,
So filled with peace and mirth,
How much a life is worth
that we long to keep.

One month ago today
Mom up and flew away
My heart the loss must pay
for new life the task.
