Homework Tactics?

"Homework Tactics?" 

When I attended my first two years of college I made it a point to go home after class everyday and spend at least two hours at home for each hour I spent in class doing my homework. In class the instructor would usually lecture so i kept my notes by omitting many of the letters in words and using other symbols. Therefore it was essential that I take the notes home and translate them. Otherwise I would forget what the words were or forget what the symbols stood for. The tactic was so successful that I graduated with honors at the head of my class! So yes doing homework definitely helped me retain the information. The only way I had ever been in front of my class before was when the teacher was paddling me!
