The "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's Paradise prompt for Day 961
Styling a home is a little bit like writing a poem. How do you feel about this statement?

Writing a Poem

I don't see any correlation between the way I write a poem and the way I decorate a house. When I decorate a house I put much more conscious planning into the stuff I do or don't put on the walls. When I write a poem I do much less planning. In fact, I'm not sure I consciously plan the poem. My poems are planned on in my subconscious usually before or while I'm working on it. If I use a prompt, as I did when writing "Gangster Ghost in Minnesota and "How do you make a Jack-O-Lantern Happy? then I let my fingers dance across the keyboard while the words ascend or descend into my conscious mind from my subconscious mind. Once the poem is started then I get a bit more obsessive-compulsive with the word choice and the line breaks.

The "Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for DAY 1441
"Imagination makes us aware of limitless possibilities. How many of us haven't pondered the concept of infinity or imagined the possibility of time travel? In one of her poems, Emily Bronte likens imagination to a constant companion, but I prefer to think of it as a built-in entertainment system." Alexandra Adornetto What is imagination to you? Is it a companion, an entertainment system, or something else?

Imagination is more then just a constant companion and entertainer

I think of imagination as a constant companion who is entertaining. I don't see why imagination can't be both simultaneously. For me imagination is a spiritual attribute that through the mind helps the individual cope with "the changes and chances of outrageous fortune" (with apologies to Shakespeare if I've misquoted him). Without imagination a human being couldn't deal with the weird, unusual, and off-the-wall encounters in daily life. Without imagination we couldn't contemplate unseen or unforeseen events might be approaching us. Imagination is one of humanity's tools for survival in this universe. Without imagination our astronauts would never have set foot on the moon and we wouldn't be planning on colonizing Mars.
