Eight days until Halloween
when the little monsters will scream:
"Trick or Treat"
and "Happy Halloween.

All Hallows Eve approaches
like a spider weaving its web
of trepidation across
the archway that exits October
and enters November.

November 1,
All Saint's Day,
begins National Novel Writing Month.

There are eight days until Halloween
and I wonder
if I can avoid eating the Blow Pops
we plan to give
to the trick or treaters
this year.
