Writing Quotes
Prompt: Do you have a favourite quote about writing? Tell us about it.
Well it's not a surprise that there are many quotes about writing; writers do like to write after all. I had no difficulty finding some.
James Michener said, " I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions." I like the many meanings, textures, and nuances of words. The ultimate goal is to paint pictures, settings, scenes, action, and characters with words. The variety is endless. Writers invest so much of themselves in their writing, and this evokes the full gamut of emotions. The intent of writing is to arouse intense feelings.
Buffy Andrews is quoted as saying, "Writers see the world differently. Every voice we hear, every face we see, every hand we touch could become story fabric." This appeals to me because I've always been a people-watcher. People are fascinating. Working with seniors, I've been told wonderful tales. Chance encounters with strangers have led to enlightening conversations.Everything really is fuel for a writer.
