Christmas Cookie Lament
         Christmas cookies were shivering in the fridge.
         I invited them out to warm up a smidge.
         Shortbread of cocoanut and pecans beckoned.
         Bite after bite, I lost count I reckon.
         Nothing remains, not even a whisp o' crumb.
         Sigh, now I wait a year for another one.
