IMPATIENT PROCRASTINATOR
PROMPT: TALK TUESDAY! What are two things you don't like about yourself?
Basically, me, myself, and I get along. We are well aware that we are not perfect, but we just work. For years, we've been a team and in that time we've learned a thing or two.
We seem to have become more impatient with age. Maybe this is because time doesn't stand still. We have things to do, places to visit, and people to see. There isn't time to waste. When we set out in our vehicle it's because we have plans. Yeah, sure, we reside in a rural village that's never experienced a traffic jam, yet those two or three cars that cause us to wait before we merge with them are annoying. What's with the super-cautious driver who lollygags at a deserted stop sign? Are they hoping to witness more than just their own conveyance?
When I find myself cursing the other driver which I know is ridiculous, I stop and take a deep breath. This is not Toronto the Teeming I chide myself. My mission will not eat up the better part of a perfectly fine day. I do have stop-and-go, bumper-to-bumper commuting flashbacks that are not at all what I now endure.
Me, myself, and I are becoming loathe to exercise regularly. Perhaps we are procrastinators. It's so easy to put off physical exertion in favour of something far less strenuous. Sometimes, it's a lack of motivation; we're fine just the way we are. Our clothing still fits. We don't wheeze all the time. Cookies do not necessarily entice us every single day.
If we did lift weights, walk and or run, swim, or cycle we'd be committed to improving our diet, too. Maybe that's it, we're a commitment-phobe. We're afraid of change and its responsibility.
