So I went to the beach...
...tomorrow the volcano.

me:

Went to Playas del Coco, a place of bad memories almost 40 years ago. So long I barely remember.

Place does not entice me. High prices. Rich folks houses scarring the hills. Not the ugliest beach ... nowhere near the nicest or prettiest.

Ate a viguerón (cabbage, curtido [pickled vegetables], chicharrón). I survived it. Then had a copo de tres leches con zarza.

Took some pictures. I don't need to go back.

So I'm glad I went.

Volcano.

There are many in Costa Rica. New cones, old cones, some sleeping, some acting up.

Rincón de la Vieja is a group of craters. I'm going there for the mud pots and fumeroles. There are also waterfalls and thermal waters. Will cost about $32 in all (over my daily budget but I've been way below budget). It's one of the reasons I came here.

Day 66 of 85. The adventure is winding down!
