I watch the high white clouds
attempting to conceal the blue sky
and hide the sun.

I pick up my prayer book,
read a prayer,
and then take a sip of coffee;
the coffee
is room temperature,
perhaps I should reheat it in the microwave.

My eyes
are drawn back to the clouds.

It is Sunday
the beginning of a new week;
it is Jamál
the day of Glory.

My eyes
keep returning to the clouds,
their pristine color reflects
the glory of the sun.

A slight breeze
generates a windchill factor,
two layers of sweaters
warm my arms
if...
when I go outside
I will have to put on
the ski jacket.

The sun
and the clouds
move across the sky
progressing
toward sunset
and a cold night.
