Been speaking too much French ...and way too much English; so, I enjoy it when I get to ramble in Spanish.

In others news... walk behind one man and two women yesterday... body form and size... Swede? Not Dutch. Hair? Lilt in voice? Perhaps Norwegian. Not Dane. Blond ...hmmm maybe not Norwegian. The guy looked like he could be my cousin...

This is like the second or third time this has happened since I've been here.

Anyhoo... Adreas teaches surfing at a Swedish surf camp.

Decided to go to Montezuma. Missed the bus (wrong info...). Took taxi with three French Canadiens ($40/split 4 ways). Got to Hotel Lucy. $10/night.

On the beach ... quiet. Full tonight. Glad we came early.

Ate shrimp-avocado-palmito. With a nice coffee it came to ¢4,400 or almost $9. Ouch... but it was good. Then went to market for bread, cheese, bologna, gnocchi, fruit-drinks. Tonight I ate a sandwich and drowned it with pear juice and cold coffee. I will repeat this tomorrow.

I could stay here extra nights but must call a friend in Puntarenas (no signal tonight) to ask whether he'd like to spend New Year's together.

Mostly quiet after 10 pm. There's a party somewhere down the beach but the sound of surf drowns it out. Could've done without that hairspray or deodorant that someone just used that almost had me choking.

In other news: saw pelicans and got a good photo of a tiger heron!

Tomorrow? Waterfalls.
