Travel days...

...are not productive days.

Should've stayed in La Cruz and gone to Cuajiniquil or Playa Rajada... I do hope to visit again before I leave though. It's one of the few places I could actually imagine living. In the future... rent for a month?

It was windy (normal) with driving rain (rain isn't normal in December). Even chilly. And I couldn't think of anything to do on a Sunday... until I saw the Cuajiniquil bus ...too late.

I'd already bought my ticket to San José. 5 hours on the bus. Not bad. Bus was kinda empty. Made one pit-stop. Ate a hamburger.

Lovely day for traveling. Not too hot. Sunny. No traffic problems... But I could've traveled tomorrow or Christmas according to the ticket lady.

Regardless, travel days are not productive. The day (when one could do something) is spent and Costa Rican night-life is not for me. Plus, it's too dangerous to stroll around many larger towns after dark. Smaller places just shut down. Oddly, both Ciudad Quesada and Guatuso were lively in the evening.

So... got turned around leaving the terminal in SJ but managed to get to the San Pedro bus and get on with my luggage... barely. I'm staying at the Hostel Urbano for ¢7.140 (about $14) so we'll see how that goes. Already met folks from Holland and Ireland.

Ate macaroni and shells. Drank chocolate milk. Prices in the urban (and beach) areas are high. At times higher than I'm used to paying in Montana! A cup of coffee and milk are two items that come to mind. Thankfully there is (almost) always rice and beans. Had some early this morn.

What else can I say? A travel day... didn't do much.
