Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Mussels, mayo and mac
...as in smoked mussels. Turned out quite well.

Me:

Yes, I eat some strange concoctions. But I buy cheap and do with whatever I have. An old habit I'm reluctant to change. I can afford to buy food, a car, get another nicer larger place. I don't. Why? Because no matter how nice it might seem to "move up" it's not going to make me any happier. And... I've been there and already done that. To no avail...

I must however continue to look at the numbers. Could I afford to buy an old van or VW wagon and live in it? Like for a couple years, rent out my room and... well... it's an idea that's been on my mind for many years. A year's rent would buy a old used RV.

Last night's gathering of writers went well for me. I read 16 (of 17) pieces. 13 got at least one vote. These did best:

"Wallet
"Once in Iceland [169.105]
"Onion skin [169.101]

Kate really liked "Once in Iceland" and took a copy home so she can put in her special hand-written book she keeps of her favorite poems. Brought me to tears.
