Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Doin' nuthin' no no no
Today I'm doing my wash and may go for a walk and watch television this evening. But it's basically a day of doing nuthin'.

ME:

I'm in a planning mode. How to increase my writing, reading, studying Spanish, studying norwegian (since I'm obviously going back!). Goals... measurable objectives. I don't always meet them, y'know. But merely having some counters the malaise, boredom, innui. In the end, I'll have something for my efforts.

Computer and WDC:

My screen is suuashed lleft-to-right. I can barely read what I'm typing. It is only happening at WDC. Can't figure out how to correct so I'll send a message to the powers-that-be at WDC. Makes it nigh impossible to blog or use website.

Travel:

So 95 year old Keith Wright from Australia is off to Europe ...again. Started when he was 85. Been to 109 cities in 23 countries. Hmmmmm... I've got a ways to go. *Laugh*

Been to:

Canada: Toronto*, Vancouver.
England: Manchester, Nottingham, Lincoln, York, Liverpool.
Sweden: Göteborg, Eksjö*, Lund.
Norway; Ålesund*, Åndalsnes, Bergen*, Trondheim*.
Peru: Cusco*, Arequipa, Lima*

*indicates more than one day.

Lived in:

USA ( Montana, Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, New York, Nebraska) I've visited 43 states.
Costa Rica (San josé, Pérez Zeledón) I've visited all 7 provinces and am working on the 81 cantones.
Canada (Ridgeway, Ontario)

Passed through:

Panamá, Nicaragua, Belize, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, Netherlands, Germany.

Not an overly impressive list. But... i've still got a few years left in me. ...I think... But I doubt I can wait until 85 to continue.

Senses:

Sound: drums and birdsong
Sight: my computer screen!
Smell: wet clothes to be hung out to dry
Taste: tamarindo, and earlier ...chicken
Touch: heel on floor.

Thankful for:

5. I'm not an orphan yet. My mother and I are both mellowing. This is a good thing.
4. Kindness of strangers. So many... names and faces never know or forgotten.
3. Health. It's lousy but I'm not bed-ridden nor in constant pain.
2. Acquaintances. Friends seem to come and go but there are always new folks to know.
1. Losing my job. Not a happy thing but would I be where I am now? I don't think so.
