Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

An orange-carroty type of day
ME:

My baseball Orioles split a double-header and at 6-2 are looking so much better than the last 13 odd years.

My hockey Sabres are in the playoffs as the 7th seed but should be feared as they have been smoking for over a month. Philly? Not a prob.

Kansas Jayhawks... we still don't talk about them!

As for my last entry on FB/WdC ... I told Nada: I've thought about twitter poetry. If it's twitty it'd better be witty. I'm not always that pithy though. Scarlett: I try. I fail. I'm much better at carrot-cheesecake-pudding. My poetry presentation went okay. Theresa: you're on FB? It can help to keep in touch ...I need to go down my list of friends and leave personal messages. Fivesixer: Am I expressive? Guess so! I'm always amazed at who reads and doesn't comment. So it is working on some level.

Well, facebook does work better than WdC for photos, but it's totally worthless for blogging except as a link to here at WdC. And poetry or writing? Who but here at WdC even bothers... I live in a town of writers ...and they don't bother. *Confused*

I did make orange-carrot-creamcheese (vanilla) pudding. The carrot gave it the loveliest shade of soft orange. The orange works well with carrot. And the creamcheese just adds heft and creaminess.

Today... a walk up Mt. Jumbo. Survived the walk through the buttercup jungle. Not much else except some biscuitroot in bloom. Still too early after a lingering winter. There's definitely enough moisture though. Snowpack is at 116% of normal. May have hit 50 today so temps are moderating.

Poetry reading? Well, Shannon showed up for support! I read the poems for Beth, Rosemary, Jacob... and a couple prose poems as well. There was some awesome performances. I did so-so, but that's okay. The poetry was brand new and needs further editing.

Rearranged the entryway to my place. Put up photos of Costa Rica, business cards, coins (1,2,5,10,20,50,100 colones), sugar packets, a toucan (clay), frogs (plastic), a lizard (plastic) and plant cuttings in the bottle shaped like La Negrita (dark green plastic).

I'm pleased. It looks welcoming. Hopefully someone comments. People do not comment! Is it old-fashioned to tell someone they look nice, that their art is interesting, that their life is of some value?

So. Odd dreams of a job I had from 1981-1986. A loooooong time ago. Not unpleasant, just strange. and totally unexpected.

I need to get up earlier, sleep less. Perhaps the brighter mornings will help. Going back to Costa Rica would really help. Soon...
